Whoa - I didn’t know that *25 years* shorter life expectancy thing (and especially not that it’s CV illness that gets people; I’d always attributed shorter life expectancy to higher suicide rates).

Yes, unless I’m wildly mistaken, that average is with suicide rates discounted. There’s side-effects of medications to think about, plus the fact that folks with severe mental illness smoke up to 4 times as much as the general population.
