galaxies-full-of-nobodies reblogged your post: Deaths in police custody: Why is there no public outpouring of emotion for the victims?
Fuck, I was gonna make a facetious comment about this same issue yesterday when I got sick of how much time was spent on the officer’s funeral, but clearly somebody else has managed to address it far more eloquently than I ever could. Also without sounding like a dick, something I would fail to do myself.
a) Eloquence isn’t normally my strong suit, so thanks!
b) I am glad it didn’t come off douchey to you. I’m not trying to diminish the horror and sadness that the PC’s families must be feeling right now, I’m just saying I wish the public would get as up in arms about the deaths of thousands of people in custody as they do about the very rare risk of death to police officers. Nothing really shitty about that sentiment I don’t think!
