Anonymous asked: well i was specifically thinking of east asia, but come to think of it, i don't know how south asian cultures respond to mental health either. :P
Excellent. Well, I will make sure to research and compile some posts next week. Most importantly, I don’t want to speak on anybody’s behalf: if you are reading this and from or living in Asia, or perhaps now residing in the West, or from a family of Asian heritage: what have your experiences of mental health / care been? Have the conceptions of your culture clashed with those of Western culture? Do please let me know: I’d love to feature your experiences on the blog - anonymously if you wish, Thanks!

I don’t think it’s really too different. Visits/the need to visit mental health hospitals perhaps is more hushed up and possibly seen as more shameful but younger generations are more accepting of it as an illness instead of an estrangement.
