Anonymous asked: If I reblog your post about trigger warnings, or make my own request to add trigger warnings, should I tag the post "tw" and "trigger warning" and add descriptions of various ones as well? Basically, how should I tag it? I'm not going to post about abuse, self-harm, disorders, etc, but I will be asking people to put warnings.
There’s probably no need if you’re just reblogging the instruction post because the content of the post itself isn’t triggering, it’s just asking people to be considerate of others’ emotional well-being. By all means add whatever tags you see fit, but I wouldn’t say it was absolutely necessary for the instruction post itself.
I guess if you’re requesting TWs, lead by example!
The whole TW thing definitely becomes automatic with practice: I tend to add TWs and image descriptions wherever appropriate almost automatically now. I sometimes um and ahh about whether a post’s content might be triggering but in those situations I tend to err on the side of caution.
