Anonymous asked: How do you know so much about mental illness and neuroscience? You seem to be able to answer any question that people throw at you!
I don’t have an answer to that really. I guess it’s a combination of 4 years at Oxford, a year at the Institute of Psychiatry, and a lot of reading around for fun ever since.
Really though you don’t need a degree to develop this kind of knowledge (but my degrees are a huge privilege that have certainly helped). I try to publish as many free academic articles a I can find (as most of them are locked away behind paid subscriptions), and I share my reading lists from time to time when asked.
If there’s an area you’re interested in and don’t know where to start, please drop me a line and I’d be happy to make some recommendations / hook you up with as many free articles as I can!
