[Trigger Warning: Gender dysphoria]

infundibuliform:

“‘My gender identity is not a disorder’ - Anon
It isn’t a disorder of my mind to know what gender I am: It’s a dysfunction of society to keep telling me that they know best; that I can’t identify my gender for myself. Somehow it’s possible that I can know who I can love, what I can wear, where I can work, how I can live - but it’s completely improbable that I can know what gender I am without someone wearing a lab coat holding a clipboard telling me if it’s real. ‘Be a girl,’ the world says, ‘be this thing we tell you to be.’ It is that coercion that causes the most disorder in my life. As soon as people stop telling and start observing, the disorder is replaced by order. Nobody has to tell me how to be me; I already am me.”

This was one of the most poignant submissions to issue one of the zine. Thank you to whoever wrote it!
